Desires seem endless. Once one is fulfilled, another takes its place. A North Carolina couple, Carlos and Ronjera Abrahams, experienced this firsthand.
Having three sons, they longed for a daughter, and when Ronjera fell pregnant again, she hoped her dream would come true. But fate had other plans. Last December, Ronjera gave birth to quadruplets, adding four more children to their family, bringing their total to seven.
A Growing Family
Carlos and Ronjera met as teenagers at the age of 17 and got married at 18. Initially, they didn’t want a large family. But after their three sons, Carlos Jr. (14), Christian (8), and Cameron (4), they decided to try for a daughter.
At seven weeks into her pregnancy, they learned they were expecting triplets. The news quickly changed to quadruplets, leaving Ronjera in disbelief. “I walked crying for two miles. I wanted a daughter, but not quadruple joy,” she recalls.
A Healthy Journey Despite The Challenges
Ronjera gave birth at 31 weeks, and though the babies required time in the NICU, there were no major complications. Her pregnancy, she says, was the best one she’d had; both healthy and smooth. She gave birth to two daughters, Ariah and Aniyah, and two sons, Caden and Carter, who are now five months old.
Facing Criticism But Embracing Happiness
Adjusting from a family of five to nine has come with its challenges, but Ronjera remains upbeat. Despite some criticism regarding her family size and accusations of seeking government aid, she finds joy in her growing family.
She shared on Instagram, “Our miracle children stayed in my womb for 31 weeks without any problem, and only needed 36 days in NICU. My pregnancy was completely healthy. It was scary to become a family of 5 to 9, but they are the biggest happiness of our lives.”
Though managing a large family isn’t easy, Ronjera finds time for everything. She enjoys dressing her daughters in matching clothes, adding a touch of fun to their daily routine. Despite the sleepless nights and busy days, the Abrahams family’s love and joy shine through as they embrace the chaos of their full house.
