Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, a moment of unity on social media has captured widespread attention. In a refreshing gesture that bridged the often-debated North-South divide, an X user named Arun Krishnan expressed his gratitude towards northern India, acknowledging that the region has long borne the brunt of attacks from across the border.
“My fellow South Indians. This is yet another reminder of how it is the north that has borne the brunt of invasions from our northwest over centuries. And that we in the South ought to be inordinately thankful to the hardy men and women there. My gratitude to our northern brothers and sisters,” Krishnan wrote on the platform.

One user wrote, “And we are grateful to South India for taking good care of our temples and keeping our legacy alive,” while another highlighted how Southern states have given the highest number of defence personnel to the country.
